Project Name: PMU Establishment for uMfolozi TVET College
Project Description: FASSET entered a partnership with the TVETCGC (our client) to deliver/facilitate the Digital Skills Training, Drafting CVs including employment readiness, and Business Communication & Report Writing trainings to 3000 learners. The target group were unemployed TVET learners (learners registered at TVET colleges, TVET learners doing their 18 months experiential training and unemployed delegates who has attended or has graduated from TVETs) focusing on both urban and rural TVET colleges.
Project description – Establishment of a Project Management Unit within the uMfolozi TVET College environment that is responsible for the implementation of all Artisan development projects, Occupational programmes, Learnerships and Skills programmes respectively. The scope included conducting a project maturity assessment of the project’s unit, designing new Business and Operating Models for the PMU, a Financial Model, and an Organisational Structure.
Key Deliverables: The training course material and/or manuals were developed for the following programmes:
- Business Communication and Report Writing
- CV Writing and employment readiness
- Digital Skills

- TVET College students that are ready for the employment world and can access opportunities for work
- Youth that is digitally literate and can use basic digital technologies required in the workplace and for their own entrepreneurial endeavours
- TVET College graduates that can submit relevant employment applications and CVs for job opportunities
- TVET College student entrepreneurs that can combine professional business reports for their clients, funders and stakeholders.
Impact:
- Employment opportunities for facilitators including students at TVET colleges through SMPC partners
- Participation of SMMEs in the skills development sector, Catering, Hospitality, and Travel (transport sector)
